UP Education signs MoU with Chungcheongnamdo Office of Education

UP Education, known for its exceptional learning outcomes and over 20 years of experience in preparing students for university, recruits over 2,500 new international students to New Zealand and Australia each year, teaching students from 56 countries.

On 1 August 2024, UP Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chungcheongnamdo Office of Education (CNOE) from South Korea. This partnership aims to enhance relations and develop academic and cultural interchange between the two institutions, setting a framework for ongoing cooperation, enriching learning experiences and cultural exchanges for students from both countries.

Signing on behalf of UP Education was Mark Rushworth, Group CEO, accompanied by the group’s international education leads. Signing on behalf of CNOE was Ji-chul Kim, Governor of Education, accompanied by his senior leadership team.

The CNOE manages educational affairs in the Chungcheongnam-do province, handling school administration, curriculum development, and teacher training. It provides student support services, oversees school facilities, implements national educational policies, and engages with the community to promote educational initiatives.

With a focus on enhancing the quality of education, CNOE aims to enable more students from the province to pursue higher education in New Zealand through its partnership with UP Education.

Key Benefits of the Partnership

  • Unconditional Offer of Place: Graduates from CNOE who meet the academic English requirements will receive an unconditional offer of place at UP Education.
  • Visa Requirements: Final decisions on student visas will be made by the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs or Immigration New Zealand.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: CNOE students can apply for UP Education scholarships.
  • Promotion and Advisory Services: CNOE will provide comprehensive information about enrolment opportunities at UP Education to prospective students and parents.
  • Research Collaboration and Cultural Events: Facilitates research collaboration between the institutions’ staff and departments, as well as the organisation and promotion of cultural events and art exhibitions.
